Zhiguo Du focuses his practice on international business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture transactions, corporate governance, tax planning, and our China practice. Zhiguo has extensive experience in representing Chinese enterprises doing business in the U.S. and advising U.S. companies with operations in China.

Prior to joining the firm, Zhiguo was an associate attorney at a major Michigan law firm. He interned at the Michigan Attorney General’s Office. Previously he was a teaching assistant at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Representative Matters

Represents Chinese enterprises in international mergers, acquisitions and joint venture transactions

Represents companies in connection with Hart-Scott-Rodino filings

Represents Chinese enterprises in establishing subsidiaries and research and development centers in the U.S.

Advises clients on general corporate matters, including drafting and negotiating business contracts

Assists U.S. companies in foreign direct investment and joint venture transactions in China

Represents Chinese enterprises involved in business disputes with American corporations, including formal litigation proceedings, arbitration and mediation

Represented client in a major white collar criminal defense case

Forms and qualifies entities as tax exempt under federal tax law for charitable purposes
