Miller Canfield Attorney Featured at Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants

David D. Joswick, a principal in Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C.’s Troy office, was a featured presenter at the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) Mergers & Acquisitions Conference, held Thursday, October 9 at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy. The conference, part of the MACPA’s continuing professional education program, addressed accounting and business professionals, attorneys, bankers, intermediaries and executives seeking the latest information on mergers & acquisitions issues. Joswick co-conducted a discussion on recent legislation trends affecting the merger & acquisition (M&A) market, as well as case studies covering the implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

At Miller Canfield, Joswick is a member of the Business and Finance Group and practices corporate and securities law. He also is a member of the firm’s Corporate Compliance Group.

Active in the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan, Joswick is a frequent lecturer on various business topics. He is an adjunct professor at the Wayne State University Law School and was previously an instructor at University of Michigan Law School. He earned a B.B.A. at the University of Michigan’s School of Business Administration and his J.D. from Wayne State University. He is listed in the Banking Law and Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities Law Sections of The Best Lawyers in America and was named of one of the top attorneys in Michigan in Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers 2003-2004.

He resides in Birmingham.
