Picking the Best: A Workshop on Creative and Effective Interviewing Skills
Live at Detroit Regional Chamber or Videoconference
Light lunch following
Hiring the wrong person can be an expensive error. Structured, goal-focused interviews uncover whether a candidate can perform the job well. Using real-life scenarios, participants will engage in interview role-plays and work on interviewing techniques. They will learn to identify the key skills a candidate needs to perform well, to review a resume efficiently and effectively to find evidence of those key skills, and to ask open ended questions so they can drill down to uncover the candidate’s experiences. The session will end with a short module on how to determine if the resume and the interview determine whether a match exists. This workshop is a must for Hiring Committee members and any attorney who is doing any interviewing of lawyers, both new law school graduates and lateral hires.
It's important to note that many of the skills which will be taught are readily transferable to other one-on-one information gathering communications such as with clients and colleagues.
