Kevin focuses his practice on trial and appellate advocacy across state and federal courts, with a strong emphasis on defending malpractice claims. He represents healthcare providers, skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals in medical malpractice and professional licensing matters statewide.
Kevin’s experience includes successfully defending physicians, nurses, hospitals, health systems, nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, and other medical professionals in high-exposure medical malpractice and professional liability matters. He has defended healthcare providers in cases involving:
- Birth trauma
- Delayed diagnoses of cancer and other serious medical conditions
- Surgical complications
- Suicide prevention
- Emergency medicine claims
- Medication and pharmacy error
- Monitoring failures
- Pressure injury (bed sore) litigation
- Falls and patient safety claims
- Informed consent disputes
- Regulatory compliance concerns
- Wrongful death and catastrophic injury claims
Kevin has extensive experience navigating the unique legal, clinical, and regulatory issues facing long-term care providers, including nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities. He defends facilities and healthcare staff against allegations involving resident supervision, infection control, wound care, staffing and clinical judgment, transfer and discharge decisions, abuse and neglect claims, and compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations. He works closely with clients to develop strategic defenses, manage risk, and achieve favorable outcomes in litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
Kevin also has substantial experience representing municipalities in litigation and appellate matters. He is well versed in constitutional and civil rights claims involving qualified immunity, land use and zoning disputes, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Open Meetings Act (OMA) matters, and employment-related litigation.
