Eric Stein is an associate in the firm's Real Estate Group. He assists a broad range of clients in a variety of commercial real estate transactions, with a focus on commercial leasing, real estate financing, acquisitions and dispositions.

Eric represents both landlords and tenants in negotiating leases for office, warehouse, industrial and laboratory space. His experience includes drafting and negotiation of subordination, non-disturbance and attornment agreements and work letters, design and construction agreements for tenant improvements.

Eric also represents national, regional and local financial institutions in complex acquisition, development and construction financings. These matters include both single lender and syndicated financings, in which Eric has counseled both administrative agents and co-lenders.

Prior to joining the firm, Eric worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Amy St. Eve, U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

Representative Matters

Commercial Leasing

  • Represented a publicly traded company in connection with leasing a 500,000-square-foot distribution facility.
  • Represented a Fortune 500 company in negotiation of a multi-site master lease.

Syndicated Construction Financings

  • Represented the administrative agent and lead bank in a syndicated construction financing for a mixed-use development in Chicago, Illinois. 
  • Represented a co-lender in a syndicated construction financing for a hotel development in Washington, DC.

Sports Arena Development

  • Assisted developer in negotiation of construction loan facilities exceeding $200,000,000 and resolution of related leasing and development issues.

Economic Development Incentives

  • Represented a foreign manufacturer to secure state and local economic development incentives for the construction of a new facility.
