Sydney Rohlicek is an associate at Miller Canfield with experience in employment and labor law, criminal defense and commercial litigation.
On the employment side, Sydney focuses on management-side labor and employment litigation and counseling. Sydney has represented employers in state and federal court in lawsuits involving employment and public accommodation discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims. Sydney regularly assisted clients, including sports organizations, in drafting handbooks and various policies. Sydney has also conducted numerous investigations of personnel matters and corporate and individual wrongdoing for private employers and public utilities.
Sydney's criminal defense practice includes representing targets in federal and state criminal investigations and prosecutions, including health care and tax fraud, firearm offenses, assault, domestic violence, and criminal sexual conduct.
Sydney's business litigation experience includes representing private companies and individuals in a variety of complex matters including non-competes and breach of contract.
Sydney received her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School, where she graduated Order of the Coif and cum laude, and earned her B.A. from Aquinas College, where she served as captain of the women's ice hockey team. Before joining Miller Canfield, Sydney worked as a judicial intern to the Honorable David M. Lawson of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
