Alan Hester is an associate in Miller Canfield's Bankruptcy, Restructuring, and Insolvency Practice.

Alan is a former summer associate of Miller Canfield. Prior to joining the firm, Alan served as a judicial extern to both the Honorable Linda V. Parker and the Honorable Curtis Ivy, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Alan earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he was a student attorney with the Conviction Integrity Clinic. In that role, he supported the Oakland County Conviction Integrity Unit by reviewing post-conviction claims of innocence, screening cases, analyzing trial transcripts and newly presented evidence.

Before law school, Alan worked as a case investigation specialist at a Detroit-based medical malpractice and personal injury law firm. He managed a docket of up to 120 pre-suit plaintiff medical malpractice cases, investigating claims involving birth injuries, negligent labor and delivery, and wrongful death.
