Jennifer Sabourin Named to Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Women in the Law Class of 2019

July 17, 2019

Miller Canfield Principal Jennifer Sabourin has been named among Michigan Lawyers Weekly's Women in the Law.

The annual Women in the Law recognition celebrates the significant contributions made by women to the legal profession and the community at large. It emphasizes excellence in the practice of law, service to the legal community, mentorship, leadership and civic involvement.

"Jennifer has earned a reputation for being one of the best in the profession and a leader both in the firm and in the legal community at large," said Miller Canfield CEO Michael McGee. "She is widely known not only as a lawyer with outstanding legal skills, but also for her outstanding professionalism, civility and service to the Bar."

Sabourin is a deputy leader of Miller Canfield's Employment and Labor Group, and additionally serves as Miller Canfield's Labor Counsel. She is known as a highly skilled employment litigator with experience successfully representing clients in high-stakes, complex cases. She represents employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation and violations of wage and hour matters pending in state and federal courts, as well as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and various state employment agencies.

In addition to the Women in the Law honors, Sabourin was recently elected by her national peers as a fellow of the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. She will officially be inducted as a fellow in November 2019. She is recognized by Best Lawyers in America for labor and employment litigation, by Super Lawyers for employment litigation defense, and by law firm and lawyer research and ranking firm BTI Consulting as a Client Service All-Star.

Sabourin joins her colleagues who have previously been named in Michigan Lawyers Weekly's Women in the Law: Wendolyn Wrosch Richards (2018), Hope Sonal Mithani (2017), Dawn Schluter (2016), Amanda Van Dusen (2015) and Amy Johnston (2014).

Miller Canfield is committed to the hiring, supporting and advancement of women in the legal profession. The firm in 2018 was the only Michigan-based firm and one of just 27 top law firms nationwide to earn the Mansfield Certified Plus designation from Diversity Lab, the national incubator for innovative ideas and solutions to boost law firm diversity and inclusion.
