Miller Canfield’s Grant Pecor Named a Crain’s Grand Rapids Business Notable Leader in Law
Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that principal attorney Grant T. Pecor has been named a 2026 Crain’s Grand Rapids Business Notable Leader in Law.
The recognition honors accomplished attorneys whose professional leadership, client service, and community involvement have made a meaningful impact on West Michigan and the legal profession.

With more than 25 years of experience, Pecor advises public- and private-sector employers on nearly every aspect of labor and employment law. He has particular experience representing employers in the health care, transit and manufacturing sectors, where clients often face complex regulatory, operational and workforce challenges.
Pecor regularly serves as chief spokesperson in collective bargaining negotiations and represents employers in grievance arbitrations, fact-finding proceedings, unfair labor practice cases and representation matters before the National Labor Relations Board and Michigan Employment Relations Commission. He also counsels clients on employment policies, wage and hour matters, workplace investigations, employee benefits, unemployment claims and compliance with federal and state employment laws.
Among his recent accomplishments, Pecor helped Henry Ford Genesys Hospital prevail in a significant unfair labor practice proceeding before the NLRB during a closely watched labor dispute. The decision rejected a claim that the related strike was motivated by unfair labor practices rather than economic issues, materially strengthening the hospital’s position in the ongoing dispute.
Pecor was named the 2025 Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2020. He also has been named a Grand Rapids Magazine Top Lawyer in Labor and Employment Law.
A recognized thought leader, Pecor serves as a contributing editor of the American Bar Association’s The Developing Labor Law and is a member of the ABA Labor and Employment Section’s Committee on Developments Under the National Labor Relations Act. He is also a frequent speaker on labor relations and employment law issues.
Pecor’s community involvement includes serving on the board of Broadway Grand Rapids and volunteering as a scuba diver at John Ball Zoo. He is also a member of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce’s Health, Human Resources and Talent Committee.
Pecor earned his law degree, cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.
