Miller Canfield Named a Diversity Focused Company by Corp! Magazine
Miller Canfield has been named a Diversity Focused Company by Corp! Magazine, in recognition of companies that demonstrate a visible, tangible and measurable impact on creating a respectful and inclusive environment.
The firm was recognized at Corp! Magazine’s Salute to Diversity Awards on Sept. 23, 2021.
The recognition comes on the heels of the firm earning Mansfield Plus certification for the fourth year in a row. Miller Canfield is the only Michigan-based law firm, and one of just 92 nationwide, to meet the certification requirements. Firms earn the Mansfield Certified designation by demonstrating that at least 30 percent of people affirmatively considered for firm governance positions, promotions and lateral-hire opportunities are women and attorneys from underrepresented groups, such as people of color, LGBTQ+ and attorneys with disabilities. To earn Mansfield Certified Plus, firms must not only consider women and people who are from underrepresented groups, but they must meet the goal of at least 30% representation in leadership roles.
Earlier in 2021, Miller Canfield was recognized as a top firm for diversity in the American Lawyer Diversity Scorecard, and Miller Canfield Hiring Chair/Diversity and Professional Development Principal Michelle Crockett was shortlisted for the Diversity & Inclusion Lawyer of the Year Award by Chambers USA. The firm is an Honor Roll member of the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion.
