National Business Institute Offers Seminar on Michigan Foreclosure, Repossession and Bankruptcy Issues

Lawrence M. Dudek, a principal at the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C., will speak at the upcoming "Michigan Foreclosure and Related Bankruptcy and Title Issues" seminar sponsored by the National Business Institute. Held on Tuesday, May 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Quality Inn & Suites at 3750 Washtenaw Avenue in Ann Arbor, the seminar will address critical foreclosure, repossession, and bankruptcy issues surrounding the secured lender.

The seminar, designed for attorneys, bankers, commercial lending officers, title insurance professionals, and credit managers, will give participants a working knowledge of the bankruptcy and pre-bankruptcy process and will identify the most valued steps to take toward a successful foreclosure action. Speakers will discuss foreclosure, including title problems and solutions; ethical considerations; Chapter 7 and 13 issues; and bankruptcy issues relating to mortgage foreclosure.

Dudek resides in the firm’s Detroit office and has extensive experience in state and federal court bankruptcy proceedings and in commercial real estate foreclosure matters. He has lectured for ICLE and the State Bar of Michigan on real estate foreclosure and authored "The Uses of a Real Property Receivership," and "Pay of Paid Provision in a Construction Contract." He is also the chair elect of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
