Miller Canfield Attorney P. Rivka Schochet Receives Certified Franchise Executive Credential

P. Rivka Schochet, a principal in the Detroit office of the law firm of Miller Canfield, was recognized as a Certified Franchise Executive™ by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives, the academic branch of the International Franchise Association’s Educational Foundation.  She is the chair of the IFA's Women's Franchise Network of Southeast Michigan, and a member of Miller Canfield’s Franchise and Distribution Law Practice Group.

Schochet completed a comprehensive course of study in franchise management to enhance her understanding of both the industry’s fundamental and complex aspects. She was recognized for completing the rigorous study during the IFA’s annual convention in San Diego on February 16.

At Miller Canfield, Schochet’s special areas of practice include class action defense, franchise law and dispute resolution, constitutional and fair housing act claims, commercial arbitration and consumer financial actions. A resident of West Bloomfield, Michigan, she received her B.A. from the University of Minnesota and her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.
