Miller Canfield Attorney Named Chair of Metropolitan Affairs Coalition

The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that attorney Thomas W. Linn, chairman emeritus, has been appointed chair of the Metropolitan Affairs Coalition (MAC). MAC is a regional partnership dedicated to improving Greater Detroit’s quality of life and creating economic opportunity through regional cooperation.

MAC brings together leaders from business, labor and government to address public policy affecting those who live, work, and do business in the metropolitan-Detroit region. MAC is an important catalyst in developing regional solutions to regional challenges. Linn, who lives in Detroit along the Detroit River, is active in the Greater Detroit American Heritage River Initiative, a project sponsored by MAC and aimed to help restore the dynamism of the Detroit River and its surrounding area.

Linn served as chief executive officer of Miller Canfield from 1999-2007. He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and serves on several charitable boards. He is a member of the Boy Scouts Detroit Area Council Executive Board, and is a long time scout leader. He is a graduate of the Detroit Regional Chamber's Leadership Detroit VII and currently serves on the board of trustees of the Downtown Detroit Partnership. He is a member of the Detroit Athletic Club and a member of TEC Fourteen.

A cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, he also received a M.P.P and B.A., with honors and distinction in economics, from the University of Michigan.

Miller Canfield was established in Detroit in 1852 and employs more than 800 in offices in Michigan, Florida, New York, Canada and Poland.
