Miller Canfield Names Leaders of Real Estate Group

The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. announces that Ronald E. Hodess, principal in the Troy office, has been named group leader of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Also, Joseph M. Fazio, principal in the Ann Arbor office, has been named deputy group leader of the group, which consists of 36 attorneys.

Ronald E. Hodess is experienced in commercial real estate law, construction law, real estate finance, zoning, and land use. In addition, he advises clients with respect to state and local economic development incentives. He is also the team leader for the firm's construction law practice and vice-chair of the Construction Law Committee of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He is on the board of directors of JARC (Jewish Association for Residential Care), a member of the executive committee of The Friendship Circle, and co-chair of the annual fundraiser for the Autism Society of America-Oakland County Chapter. He received his law degree in 1985 from Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree in business administration in 1982 from the University of Michigan. He resides in West Bloomfield, Michigan with his wife Susan and two sons, Jay and Andy.

Joseph M. Fazio specializes in real estate law, with significant experience in acquisition development and financing of real estate, with an emphasis on complex commercial transactions. He is the immediate past chairman of the board of the Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and is on the board of directors and is the first vice president of the Ann Arbor Art Association. He is a frequent speaker on real estate-related issues. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, Washtenaw County and Oakland County Bar Associations. He is licensed to practice in all Michigan courts as well as the Sixth Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. He is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Ann Arbor. He received his law degree in 1985 from Wayne State University Law School and a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1980. He resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
