Miller Canfield Attorney Elected to DMBA Barristers Board

Chandra W. Baker, an associate in the Detroit office of the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C., was recently elected to a one-year term on the board of directors of the Barristers of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association (DMBA).

At Miller Canfield, Baker practices labor and employment law. She received her law degree in 2003 from Wayne State University Law School where she served as president of the Black Law Students' Association and was a recipient of several awards and scholarships. Her B.A. in Communications was awarded in 1986 from the University of Michigan. In the interim, she was a tutorial program assistant for the Metropolitan Detroit Youth Foundation; manager of the Nabi Biomedical Center, Detroit; program coordinator, Best Care, Inc. of Detroit; telemarketing supervisor with the American Red Cross, Detroit; judicial intern in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan; and an intern in the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

She is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, and the Wolverine Bar Association, and a volunteer mentor to Michigan Governor Granholm's sponsored VIP Mentoring Program.

She resides in Detroit with her husband, Russell M. Baker, Esq.
