Miller Canfield CEO Appointed to Detroit Regional Chamber Board of Directors

The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. announces that Thomas W. Linn, CEO, was recently appointed to a one-year term to the board of directors of the Detroit Regional Chamber, the largest chamber of commerce in the U.S.

Linn will help to further the Detroit Regional Chamber’s mission – to power the economy for Southeast Michigan through business attraction efforts, public policy advocacy, strategic partnerships and quality products, leadership programs, events and services for members.

"The Chamber is one of the leading engines for regional advancement and cooperation, and I’m proud to be able to assist the Chamber in its important work," said Linn.

As head of Michigan’s largest and longest established law firm, Linn practices out of Miller Canfield’s headquarters in Detroit. His legal specialties include municipal law, securities, and commercial and banking law.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, and the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, and serves on several charitable boards. He is the recipient of the 1998 Silver Beaver Award presented by the Boy Scouts of America, where he is leader of Crew 25 of Detroit and member of the executive board. He is a member of the Detroit Athletic Club, Board of Detroit Downtown, Inc., TEC Fourteen, and member of the board and secretary of the Metropolitan Affairs Coalition. He is listed in the Banking Law Section of the 2003-04 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, and he is listed in National Register’s Who’s Who in Executive and Professionals.

A cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, he also received a M.P.P and B.A., with honors and distinction in economics, from the University of Michigan. Before joining the firm, he was an assistant dean at the University of Michigan.

He resides in Detroit.
