Attorney Elected Chairperson of State Bar of Michigan Section

October 2, 2000

Kenneth E. Konop, a principal in the Troy office of the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C., has been elected chairperson of the State Bar of Michigan's Probate and Estate Planning Section for 2000-2001.

Konop practices estate planning and administration including federal and Michigan estate gift and inheritance taxes, probate, international estate planning, and probate litigation. He received his law degree from Wayne State University Law School, an LL.M., in Taxation from New York University School of Law, and a B.A. from The University of Michigan. He also is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Illinois, and the District of Columbia Bar Association, and is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, a member of the Financial & Estate Planning Council of Detroit and the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, serving as a member of the Probate and Estate Planning Advisory Board.

Mr. Konop resides in Birmingham.
