The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that LaKeisha Marsh has joined the firm as a senior attorney in the Chicago office. She brings more than ten years of experience in higher education law, litigation management and corporate governance to the firm’s expanding Higher Education practice.
Marsh spent the past six years as the associate vice president and counsel of TCS Education System in Chicago where she managed corporate legal affairs for 10 entities of the nonprofit educational system. Her experience also includes two years at the NCAA where she was assistant director of academic and membership affairs.
“We’re pleased to have LaKeisha join our firm and higher education team. She brings a real passion for making a difference in the community using her legal talent and experiences,” said Michael P. McGee, CEO of Miller Canfield.
At Miller Canfield, she will advise colleges and universities on a full range of topics, including federal and state regulatory compliance, grants and procurement, accreditation, state licensure, distance education programs, institutional governance, and collegiate sports and NCAA compliance-related matters.
She has been honored for her leadership and civic involvement – as one of IMPACT and the National Bar Association’s “2013 Nation’s Best Advocates: 40 Lawyers Under 40” and by the Chicago Business Journal in its “2013 People on the Move.”
Marsh is an active committee member of NACUA (National Association of Colleges and University Attorneys) and ACC (Association of Corporate Counsel), chair of the Division II infractions appeal committee of the NCAA and a member of the Leadership Council of The Posse Foundation in Chicago.
