Thomas W. Linn is currently the chairman emeritus of the firm following nearly eight years as the chief executive officer and 20 years as a managing director. In those positions, he used his substantial administrative experience in directing all aspects of the firm’s professional and business operations. He is deeply involved in civic and philanthropic activities in the Detroit region, serving on the boards of numerous business, community and charitable organizations. In this service, he is active in advancing the greater interests of the state and region.
Experience
Thom has been a commercial and public finance lawyer for over 32 years. He has participated in the documentation and issuance of billions of dollars of securities and loans, represented issuers, lenders, borrowers and underwriters. His clients have included municipal issuers, commercial and industrial borrowers, financial institutions, nonprofit organizations and educational institutions. He is also a Michigan registered lobbyist and has actively participated in the development and direction of significant legislation in Michigan, including legislation related to financing and taxation. Thom is a well known and widely respected member of the firm and the Detroit regional community.
