Welcoming (and Welcoming Back) Exciting Additions to Our Team

We are pleased to share several recent additions to our team which enhance our ability to serve some of the firm's fastest growing practice areas.

Aaron Schwaderer, who was an associate at Miller Canfield from 2012 to 2015, has rejoined our Financial Institutions and Transactions Group. Aaron's practice focuses on representing financial institutions in connection with commercial loan transactions, asset-based lending and all aspects of secured and unsecured lending. He previously served in the U.S. Navy as a flight instructor.

Christie Galinski, a tax attorney based in Chicago, has joined our Corporate and Transactions Group. Her practice has focused on transactional tax issues, such as investment funds (including RICs and REITs), international tax issues, state tax issues, FATCA, tax-exempt organizations, formation of entities, 1202 stock, mergers and acquisitions, the CARES Act and other COVID relief.

We've added George Ryan Holton to our Real Estate Group in Troy. George's practice focuses on assisting clients with the purchase, sale, leasing and development of real estate.

We also made two additions to our nationally recognized Financial Institutions Group: Kasturi (Kas) Bagchi and Alan Aboona. Kas is a principal attorney with more than 20 years of experience handling real estate development and finance matters. Previously a partner in Honigman's real estate practice, she counsels and manages risk for clients in loan, real estate and other asset-based transactions. Alan is an associate attorney who represents national, regional and local financial institutions in real estate, construction, working capital and equipment financing, including syndicated transactions, tax credit and other government-supported financings and asset-based lending.

And we have hired two seasoned professionals in Kalamazoo, Shamra VanWagoner and Mary Marshall, expanding our Personal Services Group. Both have extensive experience in trusts, estates and trustee services for individuals, families and business owners.

Welcome to all!
