Bar Admissions


Margarita is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Mexico. She assists clients in domestic and international corporate matters and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance and compliance. She represents lenders and borrowers in domestic and international financings, including secured lending facilities, with a significant focus on Latin America and the NAFTA region.

Margarita counsels clients in doing business and limiting risk and exposure in the United States and Mexico including structuring and establishing their operations in these markets and covering aspects involving tax, labor, real estate, import, export, franchise, anti-corruption and general corporate matters.

A native Mexican, Margarita is the first person to graduate from a joint law degree program of Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Mexico) and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, obtaining law degrees from both institutions simultaneously.
