Miller Canfield Attorney Elected to New Lawyers Committee

Christopher M. Trebilcock, an associate in the Detroit office of the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. has been elected to the board of directors of the Oakland County Bar Association’s New Lawyers Committee.

At Miller Canfield, Trebilcock practices labor and employment law. Most recently, he served as Presidential Candidate John Kerry’s Michigan Campaign Press Secretary, and was selected as a recipient of a political leadership fellowship by Michigan State University's Michigan Political Leadership Program.

Prior to joining the firm, he was an attorney-advisor in the United States Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges in Washington D.C. He also served as Press Secretary to Melvin Butch Hollowell, 2002 Candidate for Michigan Secretary of State, and Policy and Field Coordinator for James Blanchard, 2002 Candidate for Michigan Governor.

Trebilcock is a member of the American Bar Association and its Labor and Employment Law Section; State Bar of Michigan and its Labor and Employment Law Section; Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of Michigan; Downtown Detroit Rotary; Royal Oak Mainstreet Program's Business Development Committee; and the Detroit Institute of Arts, Young Founders' Council.

He is licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

A resident of Royal Oak, Michigan, he is a member of the American Bar Association and State Bar of Michigan. He received his law degree from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he was member of the Moot Court Board and the Tulane Sports Law National Moot Court Team. His undergraduate degree, cum laude, is from Alma College.
