Miller Canfield Attorney Awarded Prestigious Leadership Fellowship
The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. announces that Christopher M. Trebilcock , an associate in the firm’s Detroit office, was recently selected as a recipient of a political leadership fellowship by Michigan State University's Michigan Political Leadership Program. He was chosen from a pool of over 100 candidates for this public policy and leadership training program that runs annually from February through November.
Trebilcock and 23 other individuals from across the state will take part in a rigorous ten-month curriculum on practical politics, public policy analysis and process, personal leadership development, and effective governance. The program is distinguished as one of only a handful of programs of its kind in the nation. Each fellowship is valued at $12,000 and engages graduates with the necessary skills to facilitate public policy decisions; to serve as effective leaders and government officials; and, to run campaigns for political office.
Trebilcock practices labor and employment law at Miller Canfield. Prior to joining the firm, he was an attorney-advisor in the United States Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges in Washington D.C. He also served as Press Secretary to Melvin Butch Hollowell, 2002 Candidate for Michigan Secretary of State, and Policy and Field Coordinator for James Blanchard, 2002 Candidate for Michigan Governor.
He is a member of the American Bar Association and State Bar of Michigan. He received his law degree from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he was member of the Moot Court Board and the Tulane Sports Law National Moot Court Team. His undergraduate degree, cum laude, is from Alma College.
