We're happy to welcome Megan Baxter-Labut to our Bankruptcy Group. She'll be based in Detroit.

Megan's practice focuses on bankruptcy, insolvency, and commercial lending enforcement and litigation. She also has experience representing financial institutions and has participated in structuring, negotiating and documenting secured and unsecured commercial loans.

This honor recognizes top industry professionals for their leadership and professional accomplishments. Marc was selected from more than 350 nominees nationwide in areas including law, finance, consulting, academia and government.

Two recent client victories in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals put the City of Detroit’s post-bankruptcy recovery on much firmer footing.

The first case began two years ago when some residential customers of the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department filed a complaint in the City of Detroit’s bankruptcy case. They asserted the city should be forced to set water rates based on customers’ income rather than on the cost of providing the service as required by Michigan law.
