Ron Hodess, a principal attorney in Miller Canfield's Real Estate Group, has been named among Crain's Detroit Business Notable Nonprofit Board members.
Hodess is a board member of the Autism Alliance of Michigan and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Friendship Circle of Michigan, a nonprofit located in West Bloomfield that was started 25 years ago and provides help and support to people with special needs and their families.
As a board member, Hodess spearheaded a project in which the Friendship Circle purchased the Dakota Bakery during the pandemic and converted it into a nonprofit that provides jobs for people with disabilities.
"The bakery provides community based vocational opportunities to people with all abilities," said Ron. "Dakota Bakery is a special place that provides training to people in the community, and I should mention, the best tasting challah anywhere!"
