Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Danielle Mason Anderson has been named among Michigan Lawyers Weekly's Leaders in the Law, Class of 2019

Anderson, recently elected to serve as one of the firm's five managing directors, and a principal attorney and resident director of Miller Canfield's office in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is known not only for her exceptional skills as a litigator, but also for her leadership in the legal community and the community at large.

"The firm is tremendously proud of Danielle and her leadership in the law, as well as in the Southwest Michigan community," said Miller Canfield CEO Michael McGee. "Her dedication to her clients and to her neighbors is remarkable."

As a member of Miller Canfield's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group, Anderson assists clients with all pre- and post-judgment remedies including receiverships, the sale of collateral, foreclosures, repossessions, evictions, debt sales and debt restructures. Her practice has a particular emphasis on commercial litigation and creditors' rights resolution with a concentration on loan enforcement, insolvency, bankruptcy and receiverships.

Mason is also a leader in the legal profession. She believes strongly in leadership through service and serves as the District F Commissioner for the State Bar of Michigan, representing her colleagues in Southwest Michigan, from Battle Creek west to the lakeshore and from Grand Rapids south to the state line. Her work helps ensure that the Southwest Michigan legal community is heard, understood and not forgotten.

Mason served as chair of the State Bar of Michigan's Young Lawyers Section, and as an Executive Council Member of the Kalamazoo County Bar Association.

Additionally, Mason tirelessly serves the community, including service on the Board of Directors for Southwest Michigan First, an economic development organization that serves Kalamazoo and neighboring counties. The board comprises thought leaders and executives of the region's largest and most influential businesses and higher education institutions. It focuses on business attraction and expansion, government and education, talent attraction and development and philanthropy.

In addition to serving on the Board of Directors for Southwest Michigan First, Mason's other civic activities include:

  • Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home Foundation Board of Directors
  • Portage Community Senior Center, Capital Campaign Member
  • American Heart Association, Circle of Red Member
