Matthew Steele concentrates his practice in commercial real estate matters including financing, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, development, loan workouts, and foreclosure litigation, primarily in Ohio and Kentucky. He serves as an effective business partner and trusted advisor to clients by providing pragmatic legal advice, driving consensus with multiple stakeholders and strategically managing legal resources.

Matt has represented national lenders and regional banks on commercial mortgage originations secured by retail, office, multifamily, and industrial properties throughout the Midwest. Matt also represents major financial institutions and special servicers in all stages of commercial real estate workout and foreclosures for both securitized and portfolio loans, and he counsels court-appointed receivers in all aspects of property management and disposition.

Previously, Matt was Assistant General Counsel and Vice President for Fifth Third Bank, where he was responsible for lines of business with more than $25 billion in lending assets.
