Mary Wassel is a key figure in Miller Canfield's attorney recruitment mission. She works with the firm's managers and hiring chairs to evaluate both law student and lateral hiring candidates.

Prior to joining Miller Canfield, she was an assistant director of career services for Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University College of Law); corporate counsel for an exclusive menswear company; and law clerk to the Honorable Lucile A. Watts, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge.
