Lani Duffy is an associate in Miller Canfield's Corporate and Transactions Group. She prides herself in her ability to provide legal services to her business clients that is practical and fits within their overall business strategy. Lani provides legal advice for marketing programs that include sweepstakes/contests, social media and influencer advertising, rewards programs, and consumer subscription services. She also supports clients on corporate governance matters, vendor agreements, and multinational transactions.
Lani spent over five years working at Ford Motor Company's captive finance arm, Ford Credit. She started her career advising Ford Credit operations on account servicing, collection, credit reporting, payment processing, and customer service matters. Later, she moved into a compliance, licensing, and corporate governance role, which included advising the Ford Credit Board of Directors and global subsidiaries on various regulatory and corporate governance matters. She also supported Ford Credit's Securities Exchange Act of 1934 filings.
In addition to her work as an attorney, Lani has a track record of community service. Lani served as Assistant Secretary to the Ford Motor Company Fund, participated in the 2018 Ford 30 Under 30 Program, and supported a grant application to build a container home at Cass Community Social Services in Detroit. She also was a member of Ford's Office of the General Counsel's Pro Bono Committee, and she regularly volunteered at the Elder Law & Advocacy Center and participated in expungement clinics.
