Erica Jilek is a labor and employment associate at Miller Canfield. She represents a variety of individual, commercial and governmental clients at both the trial and appellate levels in state and federal court. She focuses her practice on management-side labor and employment counseling and litigation and governmental litigation.
On the employment litigation side, Erica has defended lawsuits involving employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, as well as FMLA claims, ERISA disputes, health and safety laws, wage and hour claims, and contract disputes. She also assists clients in drafting employment contracts, separation agreements, human resource policies, and employee handbooks. Additionally, Erica provides advice on workplace issues such as health and safety protocols, accommodation of disabilities, and employee discipline and separation.
As for Erica's governmental litigation practice, she has assisted municipalities, public bodies, civil rights organizations, and non-profits on ballot questions, voting rights, and in election law disputes.
