Al is a senior partner of the firm and represents both public and private sector clients on large-scale, complex real estate and economic development projects. With background and experience in real estate, municipal and governmental law, Al has built a reputation for his practical and no-nonsense approach to achieving project goals and getting the deal done.

On the private side of his practice, Al primarily focuses on representation of developers and businesses interested in building or financing various projects ranging from traditional mixed-use developments, to one-off P3 and public infrastructure projects. Al regularly works with private clients in a "general counsel"-type capacity that covers many aspects of a project.

In Al's public sector practice, he routinely represents municipalities, townships, counties and government agencies on economic development projects, which often includes providing transactional counsel to elected and appointed officials and administrators. In addition, Al has deep experience in resolving various municipal and government related issues in the context of large and often complex economic development projects ranging from incentives, site selection, site plan and zoning work, and various financial structures to name a few.

Al has an active practice involving numerous economic development projects throughout the State of Michigan, and can provide expertise and counsel on a wide range of issues on your project.

Al also regularly represents state and national insurance and financial companies with various licensing and regulatory matters involving the State of Michigan. Al served as an intern at the Michigan Court of Appeals under the Honorable Bill Schuette.
