We have been involved in the drafting or amending of all types of tax increment financing legislation (Downtown Development Authority, Tax Increment Finance Authority, Local Development Finance Authority, Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, Corridor Improvement Authority, Neighborhood Improvement Authority, etc.). We have assisted clients with using tax increment financing for financing a variety of infrastructure and environmental improvements. We have also assisted clients involved with litigation over tax increment matters. We assist by:
- Drafting legislation or amendments to existing tax increment finance legislation
- Preparing documents relating to and assisting with the establishment of tax increment entities
- Review of development plans and tax increment financing plans and related amendments, and preparation of documents relating to the approval of plans
- Assisting with the financing of improvements using tax increment financing as a source of payment
- Advising clients on general matters pertaining to tax increment financing entities and assisting with any related litigation
