Miller Canfield represents landlords and tenants in leasing transactions of office, retail, industrial and other commercial properties.  Our services include:

  • Negotiation and drafting of lease and sub-lease documents
  • Lease enforcement through negotiation and dispute resolution, including representation of landlords and tenants in litigation or bankruptcy proceedings
  • Establishment of reciprocal easement and restrictive covenants

We represent significant institutional corporate clients with responsibilities for office, industrial and retail leasing in Michigan, nationally and internationally.  We also assist manufacturing clients in the redevelopment and sale/leasebacks of industrial properties.

We are regularly involved in litigation matters of lease interpretation, payment and set-off disputes, environmental obligations, construction and build-out obligations, and other lease-related issues.
