Fees May Decrease with Increased Web Based Delivery of Software

Increasingly, software applications are delivered to users via Internet access rather than being installed directly on the user’s server or PC. According to Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer, this delivery trend could result in less software piracy and, accordingly, lower software fees. The software provider can more carefully control web-based applications, which can be immediately turned off if a user fails to pay.
