Lawsuit Challenges Google's Search Result Rankings
March 31, 2006KinderStart.com, an informational web site about children, has filed a federal lawsuit against leading search engine, Google, Inc., challenging Google's methods for ranking web sites in its search results. KinderStart alleges that Google improperly blacklists or "Googlizes" certain web sites, effectively eliminating such sites from appearing in Google's search results. KinderStart claims that Google blacklisted its site a year ago, resulting in a 70% reduction in the amount of traffic on KinderStart's site. Google denies any wrongdoing and has always jealously guarded its formula for ranking web sites.
