Google Admits Its New Search Tool Poses Security Risk

Google recently released Desktop 3, a free program that includes an option allowing a user to search for files across multiple computers. Industry research company Gartner issued a warning that Desktop 3 stores a user’s data in a remote server, putting its security at risk. Gartner recommended that users switch off the “Search Across Computers” feature when using Desktop 3.
