More Workers Being Terminated for Misuse of Technology
June 15, 2005The American Management Association has released its 2005 Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Survey. Of the 526 companies responding to the survey, 26% report terminating employees for misusing the Internet. Twenty five percent of the respondents have fired workers for e-mail abuse and 6% have terminated workers for office phone misuse. The survey reports on these companies' monitoring and surveillance of employees' use of technology.
