The American Management Association has released its 2005 Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Survey. Of the 526 companies responding to the survey, 26% report terminating employees for misusing the Internet. Twenty five percent of the respondents have fired workers for e-mail abuse and 6% have terminated workers for office phone misuse. The survey reports on these companies' monitoring and surveillance of employees' use of technology.
