Former Officer Charged with Hacking Into Company's System
December 1, 2006The former vice president of technology for Source Media Inc. has been charged with hacking into the company's computer system three years after his termination by the company. Stevan Hoffacker is facing one count of unauthorized access to a protected computer network. Hoffacker apparently accessed and read email messages among company executives discussing the employment and possible termination of employees, then tipped those employees off about the content of the messages. The company has reportedly suffered over $100,000 in damages as a result of Hoffacker's unauthorized activities. For an article with more information, go to: Click here.
