Theresa Staley has more than 17 years of experience in several unique aspects of dispute resolution and the practice of law.
Her experience in environmental and energy law includes four years as an Administrative Law Judge conducting hearings involving contested cases before the Michigan Public Service Commission and Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. As an Administrative Law Judge, Theresa specialized in administrative, energy, environmental, public utility, and telecommunications law. She also mediated disputes between utilities and customers.
Prior to becoming an Administrative Law Judge, Theresa routinely represented clients in private practice in a wide range of litigation matters, prepared drilling title opinions for oil and gas clients, and assisted in statutory pooling proceedings for oil and gas clients.
She also represented clients in obtaining and transferring liquor licenses, and assisted and represented clients in estate planning, probate law, family law, and family law mediation. She has been a commentator at numerous seminars for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. She has also been a guest speaker for the Association of Professional Landmen addressing important topics relating to title concerns.
