Maribel Mata Benedict represents governmental bond issuers, underwriters, and nonprofit borrowers in a variety of municipal and conduit bond issuance transactions.

She serves as bond counsel, underwriters counsel and borrower counsel in taxable and tax-exempt financings for: governmental agencies, special districts and municipalities, primary schools (K-8), universities, colleges, health care facilities and other nonprofit organizations. She also focuses her practice on tax law and arbitrage rebate matters for governmental issuers.

She has 15 years of public finance experience, extending back to her work as a sole practitioner. She has presented to clients and public finance professionals on topics including continuing disclosure, municipal advisor regulations, fundamentals of bond financing, post-bond issuance compliance, public private partnerships and tax law.
