Kent Shafer’s practice area focuses on corporations, securities and blue sky laws.
He represents issuers and underwriters in public offerings of securities; represents issuers and investors in private placement transactions; advises public companies about reporting and corporate governance issues; and assists in matters relating to mergers and acquisitions.
Kent helped a client sell a business in a very complicated transaction that involved 14 companies operating in 10 countries and required more than 140 documents. His client had a tight deadline and very little bargaining power, but the deal closed on time and with reasonably favorable terms.
