Steve Stapleton Joins Miller Canfield
The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that Steven F. Stapleton has joined the firm as senior counsel in the Litigation and Trial Group in the Grand Rapids, Mich. office. He will continue his 18-year practice with a focus on commercial, real estate, municipal and employment litigation. He has served as a city attorney and has represented numerous West Michigan communities.

“I am excited about the opportunity to join a strong team of litigators at Miller Canfield to serve clients more effectively, aggressively and efficiently in addressing their legal concerns,” said Stapleton. He has successfully argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, Michigan Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court. He also represents clients in arbitrations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
He is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and the American Bar Foundation. He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Grand Rapids Bar Association and Muskegon Bar Association.
He is active in the youth hockey community and serves as General Counsel for the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association. In 2006, he was appointed by USA Hockey to serve on its Legal Council.
He received his B.A. from Grand Valley State University and J.D., cum laude, from the University of Detroit.
