Miller Canfield Welcomes SAE 2003 World Congress to Detroit

Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. attorneys will play a large role in welcoming the Society of Automotive Engineer’s (SAE) 2003 World Congress event, held March 3-6 at Cobo Center, one block from the firm’s Detroit office. Miller Canfield’s automotive industry and international business attorneys will present at the conference and the firm has scheduled receptions to honor the dignitaries and guests from around the world visiting the annual event and the city of Detroit.

On Tuesday, March 4, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Miller Canfield will host its annual SAE International Reception in its offices at 150 West Jefferson Avenue. The reception honors consul generals, SAE delegations, and guests from Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, South Korea, Spain and the United Kingdom. "This annual gathering provides an excellent occasion to network with our international neighbors and discuss business opportunities for automotive companies from around the world," comments Richard Walawender, head of Miller Canfield’s Automotive Industry Group.

Attorneys Joseph Gustavus, Richard Walawender and Brian Westenberg will present "Shared Liability in Distributed Embedded Systems" in room W1-52 at Cobo Hall at the World Congress event on Thursday, March 6, at 3:30 p.m. Targeted at suppliers of automotive software, electronics, and module developers, the attorneys will discuss automotive supplier liability related to product liability, recalls, production stoppage, product development delays, as well as claims under warranty.
