Miller Canfield Attorney Speaks at International Transaction Forum in Chicago

Michael H. Traison, a principal at the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C., recently participated as a panel member at the International Transaction Forum in Chicago on November 19. The Forum was hosted by the Chicago Association of Realtors at the East Bank Club where specialists in international real estate discussed the structuring of international transactions by foreign nationals purchasing property in the United States, as well as international transactions abroad.
Traison resides in Miller Canfield’s Detroit office and frequently works in the firm’s Warsaw, Poland office. He practices international law, commercial law, and debtor/creditor relations. In particular, he represents unsecured creditors, committees, trustees and debtors, under Chapter 11 and out-of-court workouts. He lectures extensively in and about Poland, including its legal developments.
He is a former vice-president and member of the board of directors of the Jewish Vocational Service and president of the American Israel Chamber of Commerce, a former board member of the Resettlement Service of the Jewish Family Service, as well as member of the Culture & Group Services Division of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit. In addition, he is a member of the board of directors of the International, American section, Detroit chapter, and Warsaw, Poland Chapter of The International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists. He is the founder of the two-year-old Warsaw Chapter, the first such organization since the Holocaust and part of the 34-year-old national organization.
He is a member of the Polish American-Jewish American Council, the Poland American Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Commercial Law League of America, and the National Association of Credit Management. He is a board member of the Detroit Chapter of the American Jewish Committee and sits on an advisory committee for the national organization.
