Miller Canfield Attorney to Participate in Seminar
June 4, 2002Kathryn L. Ossian, a principal in the Detroit office of the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C., will speak on the topic An ASP, You Ask? The Pros and Cons of Outsourcing IT Services at an information technology seminar on Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at the Novi Expo Center. Her topic addresses important issues raised when deciding whether to outsource information technology services, including the benefits, risks, and legal considerations. Best practices relating to reliability, confidentiality, security, data backup and portability issues also will be discussed, as well as compliance with applicable laws.
Ms. Ossian is Miller Canfield's E-Business Team Leader and concentrates her practice in computer law, intellectual property, and commercial litigation. She received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the Detroit College of Law, and a B.A. in economics from Michigan State University. She is a certified faculty member of the University of Phoenix, teaching a graduate level course on E-Law and Risk Management.
