Miller Canfield Presents "Where Jewish Law and U.S. Law Meet"
January 25, 2005The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. announces the second in a series of programs called "Interactions: Where Jewish Law and U.S. Law Meet.” On Tuesday, February 15, Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg, together with Miller Canfield attorneys P. Rivka Schochet and Michael H. Traison, will discuss “Money Matters: Debts, Taxes and Halacha.” This free event will take place at 8:00 p.m. at the Milk and Honey Restaurant, Jewish Community Center, at 6600 W. Maple in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
“This program is intended to help people develop a better understanding of the interaction between Halacha and U.S. law,” according to Rivka Schochet, of the Detroit office of Miller Canfield and coordinator of the series. “We will explore the principles of Jewish Law in the areas of debt and taxes and the significance of these principles for our everyday experiences under civil law.” A question and answer session will be included in the program.
