Miller Canfield Attorneys Honored by Thomas M. Cooley Law Review

The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. proudly announces that Charles A. Duerr, Jr. and Linda O. Goldberg received a Thomas M. Cooley Law Review 2003 Distinguished Brief Award. The 18th annual award is given in recognition of the most scholarly briefs filed before the Michigan Supreme Court.

Duerr and Goldberg wrote the brief and went on to win the Supreme Court case for which it was written. Briefs were judged for excellence in seven categories: the question presented, point headings, statement of the case, argument and analysis, style, mechanics, and overall brief.

Charles A. Duerr, Jr. is a principal in the firm’s Ann Arbor office. His extensive practice in education law includes labor, tenure, general school law, employment discrimination, open meetings and freedom of information, civil rights, and constitutional law.

Linda O. Goldberg practices in the Ann Arbor office and is a principal whose practice involves labor and employment law matters, representing individuals and companies in the defense of employment discrimination, employee benefits, wrongful discharge, school matters, and advising clients regarding HIPAA compliance requirements.
