Susan I. Robbins’ practice focuses primarily on guardianship work. She represents the only three not-for-profit community guardian programs in New York City which are funded by the city to provide guardianship services to elderly and incapacitated persons. Susan represents these programs on all matters relating to guardianship, including motions for expansion of powers, to establish supplemental needs trusts and pooled trusts, to sell an incapacitated person’s assets, discovery proceedings, to vacate deeds and other legal documents entered into by the incapacitated person and appeals.

Susan is experienced in all aspects of general commercial litigation, trust and estates, corporate, securities and real estate law.
Experience
Susan was court-appointed counsel for prominent New York City philanthropist Brooke Astor. She has vacated deeds over 20 years old which allowed an incapacitated person to remain at home.
