Michael C. Rampe practices in the public utility law field, with an emphasis on telecommunications. Mike regularly represents utilities and telecommunications providers in all manner of regulatory and administrative law matters before state and federal agencies, and in appellate matters. Mike provides counsel on interconnection, tariffs, intercarrier disputes, licensing, cable television, utility cost recovery filings, and all areas of state and federal law affecting utilities and telecommunication providers.

Experience

Representative Matters

Successfully defended total service long run incremental cost (TSLRIC) studies before the Michigan Public Service Commission over the vigorous opposition of multiple large telephone and wireless service providers.

Provided legal representation to new local exchange carrier in need of Michigan license, authority to receive high cost Universal Service Support, an approved total service long run incremental cost study, tariffs, and related legal services incident to its establishment as a service provider in Michigan.

Effectively represented telecommunications industry on an Amicus basis to obtain favorable rulings from the Michigan Supreme Court on key industry issues related to the protection of underground facilities.

Successfully represented a local exchange carrier in interconnection agreement arbitration before the Michigan Public Service Commission.
