Megan Odell’s practice is concentrated in commercial real estate workouts and foreclosure litigation in state court and bankruptcy court, primarily in Michigan and Ohio, but also in Illinois and Indiana with a special emphasis on single asset real estate bankruptcy cases. She represents financial institutions and special servicers in all phases of the workout process, whether resolved consensually or through contested proceedings for securitized and portfolio loans. The principal balances of the matters she handles range in size from $500,000 to $20 million with the bulk of matters in the $1 to $10 million range.

Experience
Megan focuses her practice exclusively on the representation of special servicers and lenders in workout negotiations and enforcement activities related to commercial mortgage loans in default. She is experienced in judicial and non-judicial foreclosures, receiverships, pursuing borrowers and guarantors on deficiency claims through full recourse loan documents and through carve-out violations in non-recourse loan documents. Megan has experience handling these matters for a variety of commercial property types including office, retail, multi-family and residential. She also has extensive experience representing creditors and lenders in commercial bankruptcy and reorganization proceedings, including single asset real estate cases, as well as out-of-court workouts.
